Does it hurt to get a tattoo on your foot???

It's my first tattoo and I'm thinking about getting one on my foot. Someone told me it hurts. What do you think?

Yes. My friend almost passed out having a scorpion put on the top of her foot. My wife has a chinese symbol under her ankle bone, that literally took 5 mins to do but hurt like hell!


She also has one going up her spine that took 1.5hours and didnt hurt near as bad!
Reply:I have 13 tattoos including the ones on my feet and well, on a 1-10 scale I would say my feet would be around an 8 , Its not unbearable but not pleasant but any means, If you think you can tough it out then go for it, I sat through an hour and a half on my feet, If you decide to get it done there, Make sure to ask for the artists portfolio, Also one thing that really helped me,When I had to wear socks and shoes, I would clean my tattoos then apply tattoo goo then I would wrap them in plastic wrap or non stick gauze, Sounds ghetto but it kept the goo from rubbing off onto my socks, It kept the fuzzies off my tattoo and kept my tattoo from getting infected, however it should only be covered in situations where you have to wear socks and shoes any other time it needs as much air as possible, Remember to ask for care sheet as well so you'll know how to properly care for it, I suggest using tattoo goo especially for color tattoos, Good luck

Reply:i got my first 2 tattoos the same day one on each foot at the top of it.... i can honestly say it did hurt but it was nothing i couldnt stand.. it didnt make me cry or anything but you got to remember your having a needle scraping on top of your foot. i love them i actually had two more added to them on top of the foot . they are pretty big. i say go for it. you will love them and i get so many compliments on them... just make sure its something you want to see everyday! i have love on one foot with the flower of love and on the other i have happiness with that flower as well.... I LOVE THEM! GO FOR IT!! plus tattoos make you feet look cute for the summer.
Reply:YES!!!! My cousin got one and she said it was EXTREMELY painful. I would get it somewhere else if i were you.

Reply:I can't call it! It depends on your pain tolerance I guess. My cousin got a flower with her name on her foot and she was sweating bullets, she had to stop the guy a few times. Its very popular over here in Germany and I've asked a few people and the majority said it was ok. Personally i think it all hurts, (have 2 tats) but see I have zero to very low tolerance for pain, especially anything with needles. I want one on my foot as well and I've been working up the courage to get so in about a year I'll let you know LOL! Good luck!
Reply:Tattoos hurt. That is part of it. If they didn't hurt everyone would have one. (it is a great way to separate out the weaklings).





here's a question: Will you let an hour of uncomfortableness keep you from getting that tattoo that you want?
Reply:yeah it does hurt but its a strange pain!! plus once its started you cant really back out. I've got other tattoos and it has been the most painful, i had a cold sweat.


i reckon you should take some painkillers bout half hour before you go.

Reply:It really depends on your pain tolerance. Rumor has it, feet, ribs, elbows, and collar bones are the worst for pain.





I got mine on my ankle, it hurt like hell. My twin sister got the same exact one. She cried when she got hers done, I just listened to my iPod and winced a little. I have a high tolerance for pain and yeah, it hurt like hell, but I'd do it all over again. In fact, I have to do it all over again bc the dude messed up.
