Can sea salt burn your face?

I recently got my nose pierced, and I've been cleaning it with antibacterial soap and sometimes, I cleanse it with a cotton ball soaked in sea salt. Well, my mother told me my nose looked infected because my skin closest to my nose [but not my nose] was really red. It burns really bad, and I got the sea salt water on it, so I was just wondering if perhaps it might have burned my skin. It really didn't start hurting and burning until after I did that.

If it can't, then my nose is probably infected, and I'll be mad. Lol. Thank you.

sea salt can't burn your face, but you shouldn't put it on your pierced nose
Can sea salt burn your face?
dont put any kind of salt on a cut
Reply:no sea salt water can not burn your skin but sometimes it can get into it and start to infect it so you should really put something on it hope i can help!
Reply:sea salt won't make your piercing infected. it is one of the best things to use on most kinds of piercings.

the reason that it stung was because a piercing is technically a wound and the salt going in will hurt - but it wont be doing you any damage, it will probably help!

sea salt can't burn your face, maybe you have been using some other type? make sure that the packet has SEA salt written on it, not table salt etc

if its table salt then that might be the cause.
Reply:Well, this happened to me too. sea salt can burn your face depending on the temperature of the water you use..I can get inside your pores and infect it.....So stop using sea salt and contact your dermatologist.
