Why is my arms and legs tanned while my chest and face isnt?

I tanned outside today for like a hour and my arms and legs are tan and theres tan lines from the straps, but theyre only obvious on the sides facing the arms. Wtf happened???

idk but this happens to me too, but just keep tanning and the rest will get tan

Reply:well. sometimes parts of your body tan faster than others. And you shouldn't purposely tann youself w/ the sun even w/ sun block. Use tanning lotion. It works much better.
