What is a tinted moisturizer?
Tinted moisturizer is something between a lotion and a foundation. It has some pigment in it like a makeup, but it isn't has heavy as a foundation would be.. Tinted moisturizer is fabulous for summer, excercise, or any other occasion where your foundation might be too heavy or get smeared. Tinted moisturizer also works in place of foundation if you don't need a lot of coverage from your makeup. If you're just trying to even out your skin tone a little bit, tinted moisturizer may do the trick. Some moisturizers also contain spf, so look for one of those if you can find it.
Moisturizers can contain self tanners, so read the package. If it does contain a tanner, that may be what the "light or dark" is all about.
If it doesn't contain a tanner, the two shade options are your two choices for matching your skin tone. A tinted moisturizer doesn't go on thick like a foundation and isn't going to drastically change your tone, so it's much easier to match. If you have light skin, get the lighter color, dark skin get the dark one.
