I pierced my own ears?

so, i pierced my ears with a needle like 4 weeks ago with my friend. i havent had an infection (thank god) and they feel fine. when can i change the earrings? my friend told me that if you pierce them yourself it only takes 4 weeks, if you got them done its 6-8 weeks. is that true?
I pierced my own ears?
no. it takes the same amount of time however you get them done.

Check them @ a place that pierces ears and get a disinfecting thing just so u dont get them infected....and make sure you always turn your earrings.....i think it is about 6 weeks tho....hope this helpssss!!!!%26lt;3
Reply:no, im pretty sure u should just wait for 6weeks, just to be on the safe side, i have never pierced my own ears ive always got it professinally done, but loads of my friends have, and waited 4weeks and taken them out only to find that they have become all infected

I would just stick to the 6-8 weeks opinion
Reply:no i change mine at 4 weeks and its fine and there is difference in between the two
Reply:well there wouldnt be a difference whether you did it yourself or not... if anything i think you'd wait longer if you did it yourself

really though.. i think it'd be fine if you changed it now

but its always better to be safe than sorry so just wait like another week just in case
Reply:Usually it takes 4-6 weeks it doesnt matter if u do it by yourself or some1 do it for u.
Reply:you should be able to know if you feel them swollen or hurt a bit you should wait untill feels better
Reply:i got all of mine professionally done and they told me " two weeks."

for the first pair, i took it out within two weeks as they felt fine. for my third hole, it took longer cos the ear stud got stuck. lol.

for my 4th, 5th and 6th one, i took it out like in a matter of 5 days or something like that. but for my cartiledge piercing i took it out after three months i think. it depends on the piercing and how sore/tender it feels.

if it's on the lobe but you did it yourself then i suggest 4 weeks to be careful. if it still feels tender/sore then keep it on longer. i'm kinda worried that if you take the earring out and plan to change it, you might not be able to uh, put the stud thorugh properly cos the hole might be slanted/too sore etc.

use loadsa alcohol and tend to it everyday yeah? (: good luck!
Reply:You need to wait a minimum of 6 weeks to change the jewelry.

DO NOT put alcohol, peroxide, neosporin, bactine, or anything like that on the piercing.

Clean your ears as you're supposed to since theyre still healing and only touch your ears with freshly washed hands.
Reply:you forgot to mention that we did it with a needle and if u get it done they use a gun. noob. and six weeks is in like 2 weeks... dude take the backs off without making the earring fall out and clean them, it's sick nasty but needs to be cleaned.

yeah
