I had my nose pierced about 3 years ago. I have since taken the stud out. Will it need completely redone?

I would really like to put one back in, I know the skin has closed over it, but I can't find the hole myself --- will a piercer be able to do it or would it have to be completely redone...I had a lot of blood the first time, so I'm a bit scared if they have to totally redo it. Also, I want the tiniest stud possible...I remember when I got it done they said they had to put in a bigger one...

if you go to a piercer they will not want to go through the scar tissue, and there is a standard size they pierce with this is because they want the to hole to be wide enough for the ball of a stud to go through easily. the hole will shrink a little bit during healing and that is also why they gage it at a bigger size.

good luck

Just go to your piercer and talk to them about it. They will probably find the hole and insert it for you. The reason why they put a larger stud in there is because the hole will shrink.
Reply:You're going to have to get it redone. But, like the other person said, they don't want to go over scar tissue. Some people will though. It hurts more. I've had my nose pierced for 7 years. Then two years ago, I punched the hole back through %26amp; yet again, it's closed. They aren't holes that like to stay.

Good luck.
Reply:Don't do that. A nose is much more attractive when not adorned with something which even from a short distance looks more like a zit, boil, fly, or skin cancer, than art.
Reply:Yes it would need to be redone.

After three years, your hole has long healed over.
