The cost depends on the size of the tattoo and how much detail is on it.


Pain depends on where you have it, hurts less on a fatty area where there's virtually no bone near the surface such as the stomach. Hurts more on thin skinned and boney areas such as the base of the spine or across the rib cage.

Reply:Take the picture just to be sure since this will be on you for LIFE. The cost for it will depend on how much detail is involved and the coloring. I would bet bring about $200 cash since you will need to tip the artist too. The pain is not that much in that area. I have one on my upper left arm/shoulder area and it is not that much pain. Imagine a sunburn being rubbed over and over with the non-writing end of an ink pen.

Visit 4 or 5 tattoo shops with your picture and find out how much it will cost you. Go with the tattoo shop you feel comfortable in (not the cheapest, cuz you may be getting cheap work). Tattoos don't hurt so bad. I have 4 and the most painful was the one that sits right on my ankle bone.
